The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School women’s junior four rowing team will be competing in the 133rd  this August. The Henley Regatta, hailed as the top amateur- rowing event in North America, will take place in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada from August 2nd to 9th. Since its start over 130 years ago, the regatta has grown in popularity, with last year’s event attracting over 3,500 spectators.
This year’s event will feature top crews from all over the world and a 2000 meter long course on Martindale Pond, the same venue as the recent 2015 Pan American Games.
RFH student Bram Bruno will coxswain the boat, with fellow students Emily Worobel in the stroke seat, Mariah Parsons and Maren Gierlatowicz in the engine room and Emily Kean in the bow.
Coach Dan Edwards noted the crew “had an exceptional scholastic season which included a stunning performance at the Stotesbury Regatta in Philadelphia. They now have the thrill of competing on the international stage with over 2000 athletes in one of the most highly regarded athletic events in the world.”
