Blithewald, a Rumson estate that dates back to 1883, is the featured home at the VNA’s 2015 Stately Homes-by-the-Sea.

Twenty-six designers have been selected to show off their talent at the historic Rumson estate of Blithewald for the annual Stately Homes By the Sea Designer Show House, sponsored by the Visiting Nurse Association.

The designers, who have been given a challenge to evoke the Roaring Twenties, for a “Great Gatsby” theme, will decorate 40 different indoor and outdoors spaces at the historic 1883 home.

Nine of the featured design firms hail from Monmouth County. They include Byford & Mills, Design Logic Inc., House of Cline Design, Kimberly Interiors, Mannarino Designs, Inc. Oasis Home by NLM Design Interiors, Porter Design Co. and Town and Country Kitchen and Bath.

Ticket holders will get a first peek at the decorated richly-detailed 10,000 square foot mansion at a preview planned for Saturday evening, April 25, which will include a dinner prepared by Max Hansen, drinks outdoors in a party tent decorated by Kate Duffy, and a tribute to a treasured 30-year VNA volunteer, Daren Hutchinson of Little Silver.

Famed Antique Roadshow auctioneer Sebastian Clarke will preside over bidding of luxurious items, and revelers can dance the night away to the band Rhythm Shop.

Tours of the house, emblematic of the era of Great Estates in Rumson, will run from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. April 28-May 31, with Thursday extended until 7 p.m. The Show House Café will be open for lunch; also, shopping at the Show House designer boutique. Adult admission tickets purchased prior to April 25 are $30; Seniors over 65 and groups of 15 members or more are $25. E-tickets are sold on the website with a convenience fee of about $2 each ticket. For more information:
