TRENTON — Fresh water anglers next weekend will be able to take advantage of two days of free fishing.
The Christie administration announced it will again hold the state’s annual Free Fishing Days on June 15-16.
Fishermen can participate in their sport for those two days without needing to purchase a license or trout stamp, according to the state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).
The free fishing days are held each year to coincide with National Fishing and Boating Week and to encourage the activity by residents and visitors, according to the DEP.
While licenses aren’t needed for those two days, other regulations, including size and catch limits, will continue to be enforced.
