Denholtz Property Still a Topic for Atlantic Highlands Council
The Atlantic Highlands Council began its recent meeting with a tribute, renaming Center Avenue Park to Helen Marchetti Park after the longtime resident and former mayor who died last month. The park is two blocks from Marchetti’s lifelong home in the borough. It is also adjacent to the Brant Point development project, an agenda item once again for the council.

Gusty winds, road closures and lingering rain. Lots of rain. The Two River area was engulfed by tropical storm Ophelia after it made landfall in North Carolina and moved up the coast. Gov. Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency Sept. 30, as heavy rain caused flooding in coastal regions throughout the state.

It wasn’t an April Fool’s joke when golf ball-sized chunks of hail shattered windows and strong winds uprooted trees, felled power lines and tore off roofs as a series of thunderstorms and tornadoes struck the greater New Jersey area on the evening of April 1.
