MIDDLETOWN – Township police are advising drivers about road work planned in the area for today and in the next couple of weeks.
Today, a portion of Newman Springs Road/County Route 520 will be partially closed for much of today to accommodate workers installing new sewer pipes.
Newman Springs Road, between Swimming River Road and the Navy overpass, will be partially closed from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. for the Middletown Sewer Authority project.
The partial lane closure for that portion will again occur from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Dec. 1-5, when additional work is done to the roadway.
Newman Springs Road eastbound in the area of Swimming River Road will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Dec. 8-12, for all except local traffic. All other traffic will be diverted down Swimming River Road. Police are advising drivers to plan alternate routes.
Workers will be installing water main pipe values on West Front Street at Half Mile Road on Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 24-25, in preparation for the paving of a portion of West Front Street in early December.
This will require a partial road closure with traffic detours.
Jumping Brook Road and Whispering Pines Drive in the Lincroft section are closed to through traffic until approximately mid-December, weather permitting.
