Robert W. Rosko Sr., 82, of Holmdel, died surrounded by his loving family April 4 in Red Bank. He was born in Perth Amboy and lived in Holmdel for most of his life but also had a house in Toms River near the shore.
Robert graduated from Villanova University in 1958 and earned his P.E. license before working as an engineer for PSEG in Newark for 38 years. After his retirement he started and ran his own business, Mid State Controls in Hazlet, for many years.
Robert was an avid Yankees, Giants and Villanova University fan. He loved the shore, especially spending time there fishing. He was a Knight of Columbus in Perth Amboy, and was a real gentleman with a great sense of humor who went out of his way to be kind and polite to people.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years Bernice (neé Smoyak) Rosko; son Robert (Denise) Rosko Jr. of Leonardo; daughter DiAnn (Robert) Foster of Middletown; daughter Linda (Robert) Pansulla of Scotch Plains; son David (Joy) Rosko of Belford; grandchildren Gena (George), Gabriella, Andrew (Murphy), Maria, Laura, Carly, Matthew and Michael; great-grandchildren Gianna, Sophia, Matthew Jr. and Calleigh; and his dogs, Harry and Hope.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Anna Rosko.
Visitation was held April 9 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Funeral services were April 10 at the funeral home. A Funeral Liturgy was offered April 10 at St. Agnes’ RC Church, Atlantic Highlands. Burial followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
