Edward J. Johnson of Belford passed in peace at the age of 94.
Ed will be sadly missed by family and friends as a kind, generous father, beloved uncle, cherished grandfather, loyal union member of Sheet Metal Workers’ Local 27 for 70 years, accomplished golfer, fisherman and proud U.S. Navy veteran from World War II.
Ed was the loving father of Eric, Mark, Teresa, Diane (James) Engemann, Edward Jr. and Christopher (Eileen); the respected grandfather of Catherine, Stephanie, Rob, Jenni, Mike, Ed, Eric, Aileen, Kim and Aly; and proud great-grandfather of Mary, John and Brooke Engemann. He was the devoted brother of Agnes Bushing and the late Marie Schetlick. Ed is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife Johanna Johnson and sons, Eric and Edward Jr.
Visitation was held June 23 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Funeral services were June 24 at the funeral home. A Funeral Liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Chapel, Middletown. Burial followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
