Robert S. “Bob” Roma, 63, a resident of Worcester Township, Pennsylvania for over 30 years, passed away Nov. 9 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, surrounded by his family. He and his wife, Elise (DeClerk) Roma, observed their 41st wedding anniversary Aug. 18, 2020.

Born Dec. 26, 1956 in Long Branch, he was a son of the late John and Frances (Cassone) Roma. He graduated from Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft where he was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2015. He then played basketball at Princeton University where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He was drafted into the NBA by the Kansas City Kings in 1979 and later played professional basketball in both Israel and England.

Bob was the owner of Conner’s Windows, Doors and Awnings for many years. A golfer, he was a member of Blue Bell Country Club. He enjoyed skiing, biking, hiking, golfing, basketball, yard work (especially if it involved a chain saw) and, of course, eating.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Kristin Roma and her husband Zach Hay of Worcester, Pennsylvania; a son Stephen Robert Roma and daughter in-law Kimberly Hunter of Pennsburg, Pennsylvania; and two grandchildren, Elise Noreen Hay-Roma and Mason Robert Roma. He is also survived by four siblings, Rose Tullos and Makaya, Peter and Barbara Roma; a sister-in-law Eileen Roma; and two brothers-in-law, James and Joseph DeClerk.

He was preceded in death by his brother Michael Roma.

In light of current restrictions on public gatherings, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Christian Brothers Academy at cbalincroftnj.org or a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are by the R. L.
