Dolores Heller (née Maliszewski), 83, of Belford, passed away surrounded by family May 9, 2021. Born in Jersey City, she moved to Port Monmouth and settled in Belford. She graduated from Middletown High School. She worked for Kislak before becoming a stay-at-home mom after marring Vincent Heller in 1961. She then worked at Red Bank Regional High School for 10-plus years before retiring. 

Dolores was an active member of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church in Middletown. She volunteered for the Monmouth County Boy Scouts for 40-plus years and was a Girl Scout leader. While an active member of the Boy Scouts, she obtained the Order of the Arrow. She also volunteered for Middletown Helps Its Own at Thanksgiving and Christmas with her husband. Dolores also was highly involved with the Middletown Youth Athletic Association. While raising her children, Dolores volunteered as a class mom, in the school libraries and on the PTA. Dolores spent her free time enjoying nature while camping with her husband, reading novels and traveling.

She is predeceased by her husband Vincent; parents Joseph and Victoria; and siblings, John and Victoria. She is survived by three daughters, Jo-Ann LoSapio (Vinny), Janis Della’Zanna and Tracy Melina (Joe); one son Jimmy Heller; five grandchildren, Joshua and Sasha Della’Zanna, Chris Masi, and Vincent and Joseph Heller; and her precious dog Grumpy 3. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

The viewing for Dolores was held May 14 at Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home, Middletown. Mass was held at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church May 15. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Monmouth County Boys Scouts or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
