William F. Brunt, 88, of Middletown, died Sept. 25, 2021, in Holmdel. He was born in Rahway in 1932 and when he was of age he joined the U.S. Army to serve his country. When he turned 30, in 1962, he joined the Middletown Police Department and served proudly for 30 years, raising up the ranks to become detective lieutenant.
He married his beloved wife Eileen in 1987. William would go on to work for the police for another five years before retiring in 1992. During his retirement he would spend his days keeping his hands busy doing what he loved – wood and metal working with his loyal dog Guinness by his side.
Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Eileen Goodline; son Bill Brunt; daughter Vera Naimoli; stepson Francis (June) Goodline; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
William was preceded in death by his beloved dog Guinness only three weeks ago.
Visitation was held Sept. 28 at the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
A Funeral Liturgy was offered Sept. 29 the funeral home, followed by burial at Bay View Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
