Willie James Price, 79, was born in Newport News, Virginia. He passed away peacefully Nov. 11, 2021, in Middletown.
As a young boy his family moved to Clyde, North Carolina, where he lived until joining the U.S. Navy. He was stationed at Naval Weapons Station Earle in Leonardo. He loved the area so much he stayed and lived in Highlands.
Willie was a carpenter by trade. He was a member of the Highlands American Legion and VFW for over 30 years. He loved to garden, listen to country music and spend as much time as he could outside with his dogs.
Willie was predeceased by his parents Jesse and Mayne Price. He is survived by his lifelong partner Miss Bobbi McElroy of over 33 years; his sons Jerrett and Ian; a sister Ann of North Carolina; Evelyn McElroy; Gale and Vince McCluskey; Wendy Hendricks; Lori and John Colanduoni; nephews James Reinhart and wife Michelle, Matthew Hendricks, TJ Donohue, Taylor Hendricks and Justin Donohue; a niece Mackenzie Donohue; great-nieces Evy and Jane Reinhart; and great-nephew Gharrett Reinhart.
Visitation was held at Nov. 17 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 18 at Bayview Cemetery, Leonardo.
