Robert Hill Wilson of Shrewsbury passed away peacefully May 26, 2022, just a few days shy of his 94th birthday.
He was born in West Rupert, Vermont, to William and Mary Wilson who had recently emigrated from Scotland. Robert was raised in West Orange and attended Upsala College on the GI bill after serving in the U.S. Marines. It was also at Upsala that he met his future wife, Katherine. He was a gifted athlete who especially loved to ski and golf. He managed to pass that love on to his children and grandchildren.
Robert was predeceased by his wife of almost 65 years, Katherine. He leaves behind three children, Debra, Carol and Scott (Ceri), five grandsons, and one great-granddaughter. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend and will be missed terribly by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to the Shrewsbury Historical Society. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Thompson Memorial Home of Red Bank has been entrusted with the arrangements.
