Charles Hill Jones Jr., 89, of Palm Beach, Florida, and Little Silver, died Sept. 28, 2022. He is survived by his wife Hope (Haskell); his children, Hope H. of Edgartown, Massachusetts, Charles H. III (Shea) of Rumson, and Henry M. T. (Parker) of Atlanta, Georgia; and six grandchildren.

A graduate of the Buckley School and Groton, Charlie graduated from the University of Virginia where he was a proud member of Delta Kappa Epsilon and the varsity tennis team.

During a career in financial services, he was director of research at Wood, Struthers & Winthrop, chief investment officer at Midlantic National Bank, chairman and president of NJ Title Insurance, and president of Edge Partners, Ltd. He was a member of the CFA Institute and a recipient of the Marquis Who’s Who Honors: Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.

He was a former president of the board of trustees of the Rumson Country Day School; chairman of the finance committee, Monmouth Medical Center; trustee of Hampden-Sydney College; honorary president of Delta Kappa Epsilon; and on the Deke Foundation Board of Directors. He was the recent recipient of the David Carr Memorial Legacy Award from the Eta Chapter of DKE at UVA. He was also a former secretary of Seabright Lawn Tennis and Cricket Club and, in March, was deeply honored to be the Grand Marshall of the Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Visitation was Oct. 3 at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. Funeral services were held Oct. 4 at St. George’s-By-The River Church in Rumson. A celebration of life will be held later in Palm Beach.
