Susan St. Peter, 69, of Oceanport, passed away peacefully at Riverview Medical Center Oct. 20, 2022, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Susan was born in Riverview and attended St. Mary School and Mater Dei in Middletown. She graduated from Brookdale’s nursing program and later received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Thomas Edison University.
Susan had a deep affection for Riverview, having served there as candy striper, a nurse’s aide, a Registered Nurse, a nurse manager overseeing five departments, and finally as a corporate trainer for Hackensack Meridian Health.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, John; her three children, Christopher (Emily) of Atlanta, Georgia, Jessica Emerson (Mark) of Fair Haven, and Kirsten (Tenny) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; her cherished grandchildren, Ellis, Hudson and Evelyn; her father George Jorgensen, 96, of Cape May; and her five sisters, Nancy, Patricia, Theresa, Lorraine and Jill.
Visitation was Oct. 26 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home in Middletown. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27 at Church of The Precious Blood in Monmouth Beach.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Riverview Cancer Center for the compassion and professionalism they continually displayed in caring for Susan in her final days.
