John A. Connelly

John A. Connelly, 71, recently returned home to New Jersey from California and joined his mother Mary and father Michael, his brothers Michael, Tom and Joseph, and his sisters Mary and Maureen in eternal rest.

John is survived by six brothers: Brian, Kevin, Dennis, Sean, Paul and Patrick; five sisters, Colleen Burkett, Eileen Oldigs, Kathleen Connelly-Agnostak, Erin Morris and Tara Sheridan; and over 40 nieces and nephews.

Whether it was the challenge of the “got you last” game with his nieces and nephews, aggressively playing the harmonica well into the wee morning hours, talking politics and sports, or endlessly scrubbing the pots and pans to a sparkling shine, he will always be remembered for his passion in doing things, his love of family, and his kindness to others.

His family was overjoyed to welcome him back from California and share with him his struggle with the cancer that eventually ended his life. We pray that he finally came to recognize all the good we saw in him that sometimes he did not see. Always searching for something, it is hoped his journey has ended in the arms of Christ our Savior.

John, we love and miss you. May you rest eternally in peace and happiness.
