Kenneth W. Massicotte, 75, of Middletown, passed away July 14, 2023, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
Born in Newark, he was raised in Harrison before moving to Middletown in the 1950s. He graduated from Middletown High School, where he played football from 1964 until graduating in 1967.
Kenny worked for Laborers Union 472, then went to work for the Middletown Township Public Works Department before retiring as roads supervisor after 38 years. A Life Member of the Middletown Elks Lodge 2179, he was actively involved in the organization for 49 years. He served as Exalted Ruler from 1979-1980, past chairmen of the Special Children’s Committee, and was an Elk of the Year in 1992-1993.
In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf and dining out with his wife. Kenny will be remembered for his kind and generous nature, including giving the gift of sight to others by donating to the Sharing Network upon his passing. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Cecelia Massicotte and sisters, Robin and Toni.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 45 years, Lynn Massicotte; sister Barbara (Ray) Scuorzo; many cousins, nieces and nephews, especially his loving, supportive cousins and best friends, Winfield and Grace Ann Vanderzee; niece Annemarie (James) Foster; nephew Winfield Vanderzee II; and his great-nephew Winfield Vanderzee III.
A special thank you to the staff at DeVita Dialysis Center for their kindness, compassion and humor toward Kenny during his treatments.
Visitation was July 20 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Funeral services were held July 21 at the funeral home. Interment followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
