Marion Ryan, a 60-year resident of Little Silver, passed away at home Aug. 4, 2023. She was born in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, and was a graduate of Radnor High School where she was a member of the boys rifle team and a certified sharpshooter. She moved to Red Bank to work for Bell Telephone and met and married Edmund Ryan of Sea Bright. They raised five children, four of whom survive her.
Marion enjoyed the beach, reading, country music, the New York Mets and vacationing in Blue Mountain Lake, New York.
Marion was predeceased by her husband Edmund B. Ryan in 1977 and her son Edmund B. Ryan Jr. in 2022, as well as her parents, Alfred and Helen Reahm, her brother Alf and her sister Catherine Lama.
She is survived by her children, Suzanne Souto, Marianne Gillette (Robert), Karen Bonfield (Thomas), Christopher Ryan (Heather), and her companion of many years Robert Gray and their cat Rosie. Also surviving her are nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation was held Aug. 13 at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Aug. 14 at St. James Church, Red Bank. Entombment followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
