ASBURY PARK – Asbury Park embraced its heritage as a music mecca last weekend as 35,000 descended on the small city for the annual Sea.Hear.Now Festival Sept. 16 and 17.
More than 25 bands played throughout the two days on three stages – although some festivalgoers complained of crowding and poor sound quality – including two in the sand of the Jersey Shore. The lineup included big names like Foo Fighters, The Killers, Weezer, Sheryl Crow, Nathaniel Rateliff, the Beach Boys – with John Stamos – and many more.
In addition to music, attendees enjoyed art, food and some East Coast surfing legends competing on waves churned up in the aftermath of Hurricane Lee.
