Joanne Elizabeth McLeod, 82, of Red Bank, passed away peacefully at home Sept. 16, 2023, with her family by her side. She was born in Brooklyn to the late Michael and Josephine Clemente.
Joanne was a grade school teacher and homemaker who enjoyed traveling, cooking, listening to Frank Sinatra and, most of all, spending time with family and friends. Joanne was a wonderful loving wife and mother who gave her all to her family. In addition, Joanne also loved staying actively involved in the church. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.
She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Allan James McLeod Jr. (2021) and her son, Daniel Patrick McLeod (1998).
Joanne is survived by her four children, Allan James McLeod III (Jennifer), Michael Joseph McLeod (Wendy Anne), Stephen Francis McLeod (Michael Stavola) and Jennifer Elizabeth McLeod (Floyd Cundiff); a sister, Marie Sheehan; nine grandchildren, Casey, Daniel, Michael, Maggie, Mathew, Connor, Joseph, Jesse and Ethan; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was Sept. 26 at the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Sept. 27 at St. Michael’s Church, Long Branch. Interment followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown.
