Eugenie L. Gray, 92, of Red Bank, peacefully passed away Oct. 13, 2023. Genie was born Nov. 16, 1930, in Manhattan, a daughter of the late Susan and Charles Lenz. She grew up on Staten Island but lived most of her life in the Jersey Shore area. 

Genie was a publisher at McGraw Hill. She founded the magazine Computers for Design and Construction. Later she went on to be a consultant with the Navesink Network.

Genie also volunteered her time to teach English to underprivileged children and was on the auxiliary board at Riverview Hospital. She could be considered a bit of a Renaissance woman – ahead of her time and possessed of an array of knowledge.

Genie loved staying active. She enjoyed swimming, playing tennis, gardening and a good game of bridge with her friends. She will fondly be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend. 

Genie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Alexandra and John Lamia, along with her brother Charles Lenz II. Genie also leaves behind her granddaughter Suzanne Lamia and her dear friend Martha Connomy.

Genie was predeceased by her daughter Suzanne Gray in 1992.
