Juliana Jablin passed away peacefully in her home Oct. 18, 2023, surrounded by her family and friends in Beaufort, South Carolina. She was born Feb. 19, 1955, in Jefferson County, Texas, the beloved daughter of Frederick Jablin and Lois Laurie (Clark) Jablin.

Julie, known for her warm heart and kind spirit, was a loving wife to Hugh MacWilliam and a dedicated mother to her daughter Elizabeth MacWilliam. Julie was preceded in death by her sister Simone Martin and is survived by her nieces, Holly Doyle and Bridget Capaldi.

Julie had a fulfilling career as a vice president in the insurance industry. She was deeply committed to her community and served as the PTA president in Rumson. Julie was a GED tutor at the public library in Cazenovia, New York, where she made an immensely positive impact on the lives of many. In South Carolina, she generously shared her love of language as an ESL tutor.

Her warmth and love for so many is spread out across the world. Julie hosted numerous exchange students, including Jasmin, Tina, Katharina and Ines, who became lifelong members of the family. She lived a tremendous life, traveling to over 13 countries, although Spanish Wells, Bahamas, remained her favorite.

Julie’s family and friends gathered to celebrate her life Oct. 25 at Sea Island Presbyterian Church on Lady’s Island, South Carolina. A committal service and the burial followed at St. Helena’s Church Cemetery in Beaufort.

Julie is most remembered for her strength, love of beauty, kindness, and her generosity of spirit.
