Diane Wolejsza

964

Diane Wolejsza of Lincroft passed away peacefully Nov. 24, 2023, after living 60 amazing years.

Diane was born May 22, 1963, to Walter and Ann Wolejsza, who dedicated their entire lives to her.

Though born with Down Syndrome, Diane was a social butterfly. Taking after her father, she had a heart of gold; taking after her mother, she had a great sense of humor, cracking jokes and being sneaky whenever she could.

Diane was a graduate of Middletown South High School and continued to be active in the community. She participated in many different day programs with Dorbrook Recreation Area and The Arc of Monmouth. Diane absolutely loved going to her programs to do aerobics and art projects, socialize with others and have fun.

When Diane wasn’t in a program, she would be spending time with her family. Diane was a great swimmer and loved to be in the pool, whether she was floating or doing slow-paced laps. Diane also had a bit of a wild side, from riding the rollercoasters at Six Flags, walking the boardwalk in Point Pleasant to playing the slot machines in Atlantic City.

She will be remembered for her creative coloring skills, her “notes” that only those select few people would receive, and of course her bowling game.

Diane is survived by siblings, Janet (Ian) Goldrich, Kathi (Peter) Hatch and James (Karen) Wolejsza and her many nieces and nephews. Diane was predeceased by her parents and brother William Wolejsza.

Visitation was Nov. 29 at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 30 at St. James Church, Red Bank. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Diane’s memory to The Arc of Monmouth, 1158 Wayside Road, Tinton Falls, NJ, 07712.
