James Michael Cotgreave, 57, of Ocean Township passed away Dec. 8, 2023. Jimmy was born at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, the oldest of four children born to Arthur and Katherine Cotgreave.
Jimmy resided in West Long Branch for many years. He met Cathleen, the love of his life, in 1999. They married in 2001 and together they built a life full of love, laughter and faith.
Jimmy was known for being top in his field as a survey layout manager for Najarian Associates in Eatontown, where he was admired and loved for 34 years by colleagues and clients alike.
One of Jimmy’s greatest gifts was making people laugh, either with his imitations or his amazing storytelling ability.
Jimmy’s kind heart and generous nature always radiated Christ’s love for others.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother Katherine Cotgreave.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years Cathleen Cotgreave; his father and stepmother, Arthur and Christine Cotgreave; his sister Claire Larson; his sister and brother-in-law Amy and Josh Diamond; his brother John Cotgreave; his nephew Jack Larson; and his nieces, Alayna and Keira Diamond.
Visitation with a memorial service was held Dec. 18 at Bongarzone Funeral Home in Tinton Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Monmouth County SPCA at monmouthcountyspca.org/donate.
