Andrew Dudek, 57, of Middletown, passed away peacefully Aug. 13, 2024, at home with his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Andrew, the son of Krystyna and Stanley Dudek, was born in 1967 and grew up in Weehawken. There he found a love for baseball (Go ‘Hawken!) and hockey. He attended Ocean County Community College and Kean College.
Andrew married his wife Christine in 1996. He was always devoted to his family, especially his two daughters, Sarah and Melissa.
Andrew was a hard worker, adventurous, selfless and brave man who never failed to make those around him laugh. He was a past Grand Knight of the Vincent T. Lombardi Knights of Columbus and a fourth-degree Knight.
Andrew worked at Bank of New York Mellon for 18 years. He was also a dedicated hockey referee with USA Hockey for many years. He loved being out on the ice with his fellow officials. He was a diehard fan of the New York Islanders, the New York Mets, and the Dallas Cowboys.
Andrew was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife Christine Dudek; his two daughters, Sarah and Melissa Dudek; his mother Krystyna Dudek; his sister Lisa Ellerbrock and brother-in-law Peter Ellerbrock; his brother Richard Dudek and sister-in-law Ilene Dudek; mother-in-law Kathleen LaRocca; his brother and sister-in-law Michael and April LaRocca; his seven nephews, Jason and Tyler Ellerbrock, Matthew and Alex Dudek, and Michael, Jack and Sean LaRocca; as well as his dog Muffin and cats Q, Tate and Sunshine.
He was predeceased by his father Stanley Dudek and his father-in-law John LaRocca.
Andrew will be missed dearly and will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
