Patrick J. Brennan, 86, of Monmouth Beach, peacefully passed away Sept. 24, 2024.

Patrick was born in New York City to Edward and Bridget Kenny Brennan, both of whom immigrated from Ireland to New York. After graduating from college, Patrick sought employment on Wall Street, where he remained for 46 years as a bond trader.

Probably no one loved Monmouth Beach more than Patrick. He spent many days on the beach, basking in the sun and swimming in the ocean. Sandy Hook was another special place for Patrick where he would drive with his wife, observing the seasons.

He could often be found on his home terrace reading and bantering with his neighbors. He was a loyal Yankees fan and never missed any opportunity to watch his favorite team.

One of Patrick’s proudest achievements was completing the New York City Marathon in 1982 at the age of 44.

Patrick was a gregarious, social person who loved nothing more than gathering with his large family at each and every event imaginable. He was proud of his 49-year association with Alcoholics Anonymous in which he unselfishly helped others to recover.

Patrick’s generosity and good cheer will be sorely missed by his wife, Jewel, his three children from a previous marriage, Patrick, Ned and Susan Rocco and her husband Jimmy, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, as well as the many friends and acquaintances who were part of his greater family.

A memorial Mass was celebrated Oct. 2 at the Church of the Precious Blood, Monmouth Beach. Burial will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Thompson Memorial Home of Red Bank.
