Terri L. Bujalski, known affectionately as Terri, Aunt Terr, Mom and Besh by her grandchildren, passed suddenly Feb. 7, 2025. Born June 8, 1960, Terri was a lifelong resident of Highlands, which she embraced fully with friends and family.
Terri’s legacy of love and laughter is carried on by her mother, Elizabeth Vaughn Searcy, the family matriarch and rock; son Jason Bujalski; daughter-in-law Jessica; five treasured grandchildren; nephew Dewey Searcy; niece Amanda DeBari, Carmen DeBaria and their three children; and her cherished domestic partner, Robert Taylor.
She was predeceased by her father, David Searcy Sr., and beloved brother David Searcy.
Terri attended Henry Hudson Regional High School, graduating in 1978 with a degree in friends and socializing. Terri’s career path led her to Katz’s Confectionary in Highlands, where she was not just a clerk but the unofficial purveyor of smiles and sage advice with every purchase. Her colleagues knew her as the go-to person when the day needed a dose of sunshine or a hearty laugh. Terri had a knack for turning even the most mundane task into a comedy sketch, leaving customers and co-workers alike chuckling long after the workday ended.
Terri was a beach enthusiast and a sun worshipper, convinced that a little Coors Light and some warm rays were the cure for just about anything. Her love for country music had her toe-tapping and chair-dancing through life, while her passion for reading was only rivaled by her love for spending time with her small circle of friends and family.
Remember Terri and honor her by living life with a little more laughter, a lot more friendliness, and an endless supply of country music and good reads.
There was a Life Celebration for Terri Feb. 16 at VFW Post 6902, Highlands.
