Kathryn (Katy) H. Madsen, 91, passed away peacefully Feb. 6, 2025. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Kenneth E. Madsen. She is survived by her children, David G. Madsen and Juliane Maden Steenkamer (David), as well as her cherished grandchildren, Noah, Andrew, Emily, Alison and Kathryn.

Katy was born in Tulsa and raised in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Oklahoma. She taught home economics and conducted early childhood education research at Cornell University, where she met her husband.

Katy and Ken settled in Holmdel, where she was a resident for 55 years, enjoying travel, tennis and making new friends. She had a remarkable talent for needlepoint and embroidery, earning awards for her exquisite work. She was a generous supporter and active member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority, Tower Hill Presbyterian Church and many nonprofit organizations.

Above all, Katy was a devoted wife, mother, Nana and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

The family offers a special thank you to the staff at The Villas of Holmdel and Dove Hospice for their loving care and support.
