Scott Robert Marmer, 61, of Absecon, passed away peacefully at his home March 25, 2025. He was born Aug. 16, 1963, in Brooklyn and raised in Hazlet.

Scott graduated from Raritan High School and attended Brookdale College, where he studied business management. He then embarked on a successful sales career in the garment industry in New York City, earning respect and admiration from colleagues and clients alike.

Scott had a deep love for the beach, where he spent many joyful days. He cherished vacationing in warm tropical climates, always making time for a workout to stay fit. He was also an avid skier and enthusiastically enjoyed time on the slopes. A dedicated fan of the New York Rangers, Giants and Mets, Scott’s passion for sports was evident to all who knew him.

Scott’s culinary tastes were diverse. He could enjoy a hearty corned beef sandwich or indulge in shrimp and lobster. He also had a profound love for animals, often fostering and adopting dogs; his most recent “best friend” was Leo.

Scott was predeceased by his father, Paul Martin Marmer, in 2023. He is survived by his loving mother, Marilyn Marmer; his children, Stephanie Baker and her husband Joshua, Michael Marmer, and Rachel Marmer and her fiancé Brian Chittum; his siblings, Bonnie Maher and her husband Joe, and Gary Marmer and his wife Laurie; his grandson Austin Baker; and his nieces and nephews, Matthew, Lauren and Bobby, Alyssa and Ryan, Jordyn and Brian, Ryan and Sarah, and Logan. Scott also leaves behind great-nieces and nephews Lennon, Colton, Brody, Jaxon and Donovan.

Private graveside services were held April 1 at Mt. Sinai Cemetery in Marlboro. Scott’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever cherish the moments they shared with him.
