Carl Engemann, 93, a lifelong resident of Middletown, passed away at home Dec. 1, 2025. He was born in Union and moved to Belford with his wife, where they raised their family. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for four years.

Carl worked as vice president of AB Murray Company in Union for 40 years. He was a founding member and president of the Middletown Youth Athletic Association (MYAA) and volunteered for many years for youth sports in Middletown. He also served local seniors with Meals on Wheels for many years.

Surviving are his three daughters, Nancy (husband Lawrence) Wiltbank, Carol Neary, Gail (husband Gary) Loeser, and his son James; nine grandchildren, Robert, Brian, Michael, Steven, Danielle, Gregory, Megan, Jenna and Julia; and great-grandchildren Mary, John, Brooke and Mason, who was born on Carl’s 92nd birthday.

Carl was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Evelyn, his sister Theresa Montferrat, parents Frederick and Margaret Engemann, and his daughter-in-law Diane Engemann.

Visitation and funeral prayers were held Dec. 5 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home in Middletown. Burial was Dec.6 at Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth.
