Richard Jay Fuhrman, 63, of Holmdel, passed away March 8, 2026, surrounded by loved ones after a difficult battle with cancer.

Rich was born Nov. 11, 1962, to Mel and Harriet Fuhrman in Brooklyn, New York. After he graduated from Kennedy High School, he pursued a degree in marketing at the University of Rhode Island. After graduation, he followed in his father’s footsteps for the first part of his career, embedding himself in the music industry in New York City, then switching to sales when he moved to the suburbs.

In 1999, Rich met his wife Kami on a blind date in New York City, set up by a mutual friend. They married less than two years later and went on to have two children, Julia and Matthew. Rich’s family meant everything to him. He loved his kids and was extremely proud of them.

Rich’s true passion was watching sports. From the time he was a child, the Jets and the Mets kept him very busy. He watched every game on TV and loved going to see them both. Many of his customers were acquired and retained using sports discussions as their common interest. He also coached many of his son’s baseball teams, always pushing the kids to be their best. He took this very seriously.

Rich was predeceased by his father Mel. He is survived by his wife, Kami; his two children, Julia and Matthew; his mother, Harriet; and his sister, Lisa.

A graveside service was held March 11 at Agudath Achim Cemetery.
