Robert Kenneth Lynch, aged 75, passed away peacefully at home April 28, 2026.

Bob was born Sept. 15, 1950, in Jersey City. He graduated from St. Peter’s College and went on to a successful career at Colgate-Palmolive and then International Flavors and Fragrances.

He was an avid horseback rider, had a passion for restoring classic cars and trucks, and could always be found with the family dog, Gus, by his side. He also loved riding his Harley motorcycles with his wife Nancy and traveling the world together during their 49 years of marriage.

Bob cared deeply for the less fortunate and dedicated time and talent in service on the board of the Ladacin Network, to provide educational and support services to people with disabilities. He was also a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters in Asbury Park. Bob was known for going out of his way to give a helping hand to friends, neighbors and family in need. He is also fondly remembered for his dry, perfectly timed wit that could catch you off guard and leave you laughing.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, with whom he shared a cherished life filled with love and laughter, and his two beautiful children, the loves of his life, Robert Lynch and wife Andrea and Catherine Lynch. Bob was also joyously awaiting the birth of his granddaughter.

He was predeceased by his mother, Kathryn Canavan; his father, Walter Lynch; his sister, Mary Ellen Kizman; and his brother, Mark Lynch.

Family and friends gathered May 4 at the John E. Day Funeral Home in Red Bank. A funeral Mass was celebrated May 5 at the Church of the Nativity in Fair Haven. Private cremation followed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to Covenant House (covenanthouse.org) and Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org).
