Fuying Ge

24

It is with deep sadness that the family of Fuying Ge announces her peaceful passing June 6, 2026, at her youngest son’s Middletown home at the age of 84.

Fuying Ge was born June 15, 1941, in Tianjin, China, to Xianhai Ge and Xiuying Zhang, the third child of four siblings. During her early years, she had to move to Shanghai with her parents to avoid the wars. She attended elementary and middle school in Shanghai. Then she successfully received her college education at the Shanghai Institute of Mechanical Engineering.

Before her graduation, Fuying Ge married to Changgen Xu; they were married for 35 years before his passing in 1996. Together, in Shanghai, they built a loving life rooted in family, devotion and shared memories, creating a home filled with care, warmth and lasting love.

When her youngest son, Minzhong Xu, came to New York in 1994, she began to frequently fly between the U.S. and China. She eventually settled in New York before moving in with her youngest son after the COVID-19 outbreak.

A deeply caring and selfless woman, Fuying spent many years lovingly caring for her mother, then her father, her husband, and later her sons and grandchildren. She always put others before herself, offering comfort, support and quiet strength to those who needed her most. Her kindness, devotion and generous heart will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Fuying Ge is survived by her two sons, Minyong Xu and Minzhong Xu; daughter-in-law Qinghong Zhang (wife of Minyong); two grandchildren, Aoli Xu and Aoyang Xu; grand-daughter-in-law Hong Tian (wife of Aoyang); and great-granddaughter Yilin Xu.

A funeral service was held June 20 at Holmdel Funeral Home, Holmdel.

Fuying will live on in the hearts and memories of all who loved her. Rest in peace.
