RUMSON – Sunday, March 8 was a gloriously sunny day for Rumson’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, held along River Road. Organizers estimated 10,000 people were in attendance along the route. Grand Marshal John Keegan led 75 marching units, 10 floats, eight pipe and drum marching bands and three dance schools featuring Irish step dancers. There were also antique and classic cars, veteran groups, scouting organizations, nonprofit clubs and organizations, schools, novelty acts and local and area business and civic groups.

The Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade celebrates Irish heritage and provides charitable gifts to community-minded organizations. To date the parade has provided more than $150,000 in support. This year’s beneficiary was Steph’s Place.
