ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS
The Atlantic Highlands Historical Society will hold its 36th annual Outdoor Flea Market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Atlantic Highlands Marina, off First Avenue.
The rain date is Sept. 20.
There will be 100-plus vendors offering a variety of antiques and collectibles, crafts, second-time around and some new items. Among the merchandise to be found will be furniture, tools, fishing equipment, jewelry, books, postcards, T-shirts, handbags, clothing, toys, art, glassware and more. There also will be an eclectic array of bargains at the society’s Treasures Or Table and a variety of food, refreshments, and baked goods.
All proceeds will be used toward the restoration of the society’s museum, the Strauss Mansion at 27 Prospect Circle and educational programs throughout the year.
The Strauss Mansion has been designated a National Historic Site as well as a New Jersey Historic site.

COLTS NECK
The Martha Mary Guild of St. Mary’s Church is holding a clothing and linen sale Thursday through Saturday, Sept. 4-6, at the church, located at 1 Phalanx Road at the corner of Route 34.
The event will feature gently used men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, shoes, jewelry, accessories and linens. There will also be designer and brand-new items in the boutique, all with bargain prices.
Hours of the sale will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6.

LINCROFT
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth is expanding its Sunday services and religious education programs, starting Sept. 7. The new times are 9 and 11 a.m. All are invited to visit.
Participants at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation gather every week to create sacred space and time in their lives for reflection and celebration. With diverse, vibrant music and inspirational messages taken from many traditions, the community, led by the Rev. Virginia Jarocha-Ernst, learns to grow in love and spirit. Services last approximately one hour. Attendees do not have to be a member to participate.
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County is located at 1475 W. Front St.

MIDDLETOWN
The Middletown Township Health Department will hold a cats-only free rabies clinic from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Croydon Hall Gym, 900 Leonardville Road, in the Leonardo section.
All cats must be in a cat carrier – only one per carrier – and accompanied by an adult.
Middletown residents may purchase the new 2014 license at the clinic.
The free clinic is open to all Monmouth County residents.

A similar free rabies clinic for dogs only will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at the gym.

Middletown Township Public Library will present a classical violin concert at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, at the 55 New Monmouth Road library.
Joel DeWitt, who studied violin at Juilliard, will play sonatas by Bach, Prokofiev and Ysaye on behalf of Musicians on a Mission. The organization’s mission is to raise funds for local charities while creating opportunities for local musicians.
Attendees are asked to bring a nonperishable food item for Project Paul.
The free concert will be held in the library’s Community Room.
No registration is required but space is limited so come early.

RED BANK
The Red Bank Regional Buc Backer Foundation will hold the Buc Backer Bash from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the historic Monmouth Boat Club at 31 Union St.
The event offers music, food, adult beverages (included in the cost of admission), games and basket raffles.
Admission for adults over the age of 21 is $35 a person and $25 for RBR staff members.

Proceeds from the Buc Backer Bash support the Red Bank Regional School District.
 
SHREWSBURY
Family Resource Associates (FRA) will be holding its inaugural Color Me Belmar – Run for FRA 3K on Saturday, Oct. 11 on the Belmar beach.
The event will have a 10 a.m. start on the beach at First and Ocean avenues.
Event participants can walk or run together and all are welcome to participate as long as they have fun and don’t take things too seriously. There are no age limits.
T-shirts will be provided to those who sign up before Sept. 10.
The run will benefit local children with developmental disabilities served by the nonprofit FRA, serving the community for 35 years and offering “PossAbilities for people with disAbilities.”
