RUMSON
Clean Ocean Action (COA) and Surfers’ Environmental Alliance (SEA) are holding a 2014 Shore Paddle on Sunday, July 13, at Victory Park.
The stand-up paddle (SUP) event on the Navesink River will celebrate the natural beauty of the shore and feature an 8-mile SUP race with prizes, free SUP and yoga demonstrations, a 3-mile fun paddle and activities for the whole family in Victory Park.
Day of race registration begins at 8 a.m. The 8-mile race is at 9 a.m. and the 3-mile fun paddle at 9:30 a.m.
Fun paddle registration is $75 in advance, $85 on event day.
The 8-mile race is $85 in advance, $100 on event day. Registration can be made at PaddleGuru.com.
Sponsorships and in-kind supplies donations are appreciated, as well as donations made in honor of a favorite water lover.
Contributions will help COA and SEA reach their goals to create cleaner, safer beaches for all to enjoy.

RED BANK
Pilgrim Baptist Church of Red Bank will host its annual graduation and educational excellence celebration on Sunday, June 29, at the 172 Shrewsbury Ave. church.
The service will feature recognition of graduating high school and college students, recognition of student academic achievement and the awarding of student scholarships and continuing education awards.
The Rev. Dr. Donald Warner, former superintendent of the Red Bank Regional High School District, will serve as the guest preacher.
The doors open at 10 a.m.

The Red Bank Rotary Club recently awarded four local high school students scholarships for the college of their choice.
The honorees, their parents and guidance counselors attended the event. Jeffrey Villapiano of Red Bank Regional High School and Emily Wooley of Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School were each awarded $5,000. Brianna Dazio of Communications High School and Megan Reardon of Red Bank Regional High School were each awarded $2,500.
The students were honored at a luncheon held at the Molly Pitcher Inn during the club’s regularly scheduled meeting.
Rotary International, founded in 1905 by Paul Harris, is a service club whose members work for the greater good of the community.
