ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS
The Atlantic Highlands Chamber of Commerce Farmers’ Market, which opened on June 6, will be ending Oct. 10.
The market opens on Fridays at noon and ends at 6 p.m., rain or shine, downtown on First Avenue, across from Borough Hall.
A mix of produce, fruits, plants and herbs are available from Farmer Al, Beckage Farms and Martz Farms. Other vendors include Pickle Licious, Holly Jolly Jams, Smiling Earth Elixirs, From the Garden, Big Spoon, Little Spoon, Breadsmith, Paulo’s Kitchen, Krakus Deli and Atlantic Highland’s own Fair Mountain Coffee.

MIDDLETOWN
Area residents can turn in unwanted or expired medication for safe disposal from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Middletown Police Department Headquarters in Town Hall at 1 Kings Highway.
The collection is part of the National Take Back Initiative and is for medications only. No needles, please.

NAVESINK
All Saints’ Memorial Church, locally known as The Stone Church, will be offering a Blessing of the Animals Service on All Saints’ grounds at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, rain or shine.
This annual tradition at All Saints’ and in many churches is in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, who was known for his love for all God’s creation, treating all fellow creatures as brothers and sisters.
All pet owners are invited to bring their pets, whether they’re on a leash, in a crate, box, tank or cage. The brief service will include an individual blessing for each pet present.

RED BANK
Mt. Zion Church will hold a social awareness prayer breakfast at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at the 172 Catherine St. church.
The guest speaker will be Dr. Laverne Adams, pastor of Cathedral of Praise.
The donation is $20.
 
TINTON FALLS
Monmouth Reform Temple will present a 92nd Street Y Live program at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, featuring chef Mario Batali and food writer Mark Bittman.
They will discuss their differing theories on cooking:
Bittman’s cooking with optimal results in minimal time and Batali’s slower approach of “from farm to table.”
Tickets are $18 per person at the door.
