Adriana Agudelo Kenny, Esq., 61, of Ocean, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Sept. 30, 2023. Born in Medellin, Colombia, South America, Adriana moved to New York at the age of 10. She lived in New York until relocating to Fair Haven for 25 years. For the past seven years Adriana lived with her family in Ocean.

Adriana married her husband Terence Kenny in October 1990 and they have a daughter, Gabriella Kenny.

Adriana was preceded in death by her mother Esnada Aqudelo.

She is survived by her beloved husband Terence, and their daughter Gabriella Kenny of Jersey City; father Gabriel Agudelo of Colombia, South America; sister and brother-in-law Amparo Hernandez and Wilson Hernandez of Rosedale, New York; brother Jorge Agudelo of Colombia; sister-in-law Kathleen Kenny of Havre de Grace, Maryland; and sisters- and brothers-in-law Elizabeth Kenny-Foggin and Ward Foggin of Tinton Falls, and Maura Van Syckle and L. Glenn Van Syckle of Bel Air, Maryland. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she loved.

Adriana received a Bachelor of Science in political science from Pace University and her Juris Doctor from the City University of New York, Queens College School of Law. 

She was a compassionate and fierce advocate for her clients. Her lifelong goal was to improve the lives of others.

Adriana’s legal career spanned 35 years representing economically disadvantaged clients. She started her career working for Brooklyn Legal Service (five years), then worked for Ocean-Monmouth Legal Services (20 years), the State of NJ (eight years), and the Monmouth County Board of Health (two years).

Adriana’s greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Her Catholic faith was the foundation of how she lived her life. 

Visitation was held Oct. 4 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5 at Church of the Nativity, 180 Ridge Road, Fair Haven. Burial will follow at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
