Alfred David Giuliani Sr. passed away Aug. 22, 2024, at the age of 90. He was born Nov. 3, 1933, in New York and was a long-time resident of Lincroft.
Alfred loved his family deeply. He had a smile that lit up any room, a kind heart and a very generous spirit. He was a great cook, loved making homemade ravioli with his family and loved Frank Sinatra. He danced even better than he cooked.
He had a passion for flying. He flew private planes, seaplanes and helicopters. He even flew Santa Claus into the Atlantic Highlands Marina by helicopter to the delight of many children (including his own).
Alfred, along with his father Isidorio and brother Giuseppe, was the proud owner of Giuliani Contracting Company in Atlantic Highlands.
He leaves behind his children, Patricia (Giuliani) Murray and her spouse James Murray, Debra Giuliani, Alfred Giuliani Jr., Joseph Giuliani and his spouse Adrian, and Sean Giuliani and his spouse Denise. He also leaves behind his loving sister Judy Ann (Giuliani) Natale and brother-in-law Dominic Natale.
He was predeceased by his parents, Carmela (Ferrara) Giuliani and Isidorio Giuliani, his brother Giuseppe, his sisters Anna (Giuliani) Wilson, Jean (Giuliani) Kronshage and Gloria (Giuliani) Hickman and their spouses.
Alfred was fondly known as Poppie to his very much adored 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was blessed to have a host of very special nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 4 at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Red Bank. The interment will follow immediately after Mass at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements are under the direction of Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org in Alfred’s honor.
The family would like to extend its appreciation to those who cared for Alfred at Complete Care, Holmdel.
