Allan James McLeod Jr., 80, of Red Bank, passed away May 22, 2021. He was born in Brooklyn to the late Allan James McLeod Sr. and Catherine McCarthy.

Allan proudly served this country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. After graduating from St. John’s University in Queens, Allan went on to own his own business, City-Newark Glass Co. in Bayonne. In addition to being a successful entrepreneur, Allan was also heavily involved in his community as a member of the St. John’s University Alumni Association and as a volunteer at the Red Bank Municipal Court. In his spare time, Allan loved his New York sports teams and regularly rooted for the Mets and the Jets. He was also an avid reader. Allan was dedicated to his family and career, always considering the needs of others on his road to success.

Allan was predeceased by his parents, his son Daniel McLeod, and his sister Aurlie Burke. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Joanne Elizabeth McLeod. He is also survived by his three adoring sons, Allen James McLeod III (Jennifer), Michael Joseph McLeod (Wendy Anne), and Stephen Francis McLeod (Michael Stavola); his cherished daughter, Jennifer E. McLeod; his nine grandchildren, Casey, Daniel, Michael, Maggie, Matthew, Connor, Joseph, Jesse and Ethan; as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held May 26 at the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. A Mass will be held at 11 a.m. May 27 at St. Michael’s Church in Long Branch, followed by interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Middletown.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Allan’s memory to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 1384 Perrineville Road, Monroe Township, NJ 08831.
