George Almodovar, 62, of Old Bridge, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, March 11 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge. George was born on October 26, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois, and as a child moved to Puer to Rico with his family, where he was raised. In his early teenage years, George moved back to the United States, settling in New Jersey.

George worked for the United States Post Office for many years, out of the Newark Branch. He retired as supervisor.

George’s family described him as being a huge bowling fanatic. It was his absolute favorite hobby. He was a member of numerous leagues throughout his life, but most recently was a part of the Bergen County Bowling League, in addition to a traveling bowling league.

He was predeceased by his father, Adrian Almodovar.

George is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Rebecca (Reyes) Almodovar; his loving sons, Jorge Almodovar of South Amboy, Miguel Almodovar and his wife Michele of Old Bridge and Christian Clark Almodovar; his dear siblings, Adrian Almodovar and his wife Gloria of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Michael Almodovar and his wife Chela of Newport News, Virginia, Sylvia Almodovar of Jersey City, Gladys Almodovar and her husband Robert Munoz of Puerto Rico and Margaret Almodovar of Puerto Rico.
