Andrew William Kirschbaum, 43, of Middletown, passed away June 19, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. “Roo” was born in Rahway, grew up in Winfield Park and Leonardo, then started his family with his loving wife Lori, three amazing children and loyal dog Teddy in Middletown.
In his early years, Roo enjoyed music and played guitar and banjo in several bands. He graduated from Middletown High School South and the University of Utah.
A natural athlete, Roo excelled at sports, which he passed on to his three children. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved fishing, boating, camping and snowboarding. He loved his family dearly and especially enjoyed playing games with his children and instilling in them his love for the outdoors. His wry sense of humor will be missed by all.
Surviving are his wife of 12 years, Lori (McDermott) Kirschbaum; two sons, William (age 9) and Jack (age 8), and daughter Catherine (age 6); his father Carl Kirschbaum; two sisters, Kristen Zeiser (spouse Chris) and Kerri Kirschbaum (spouse Angela Geller); brother Michael Kirschbaum (spouse Megan); mother-in-law Renee McDermott; father-in-law John McDermott; sister-in-law Valerie McDermott; aunt Kerry Agostine; uncle Bob Kirschbaum (spouse Darlene); brother-in-law Thomas McDermott (spouse Lindsay); nephew Ryan and niece Kayleigh; and cousins Jennifer Agostine and Jim Agostine (spouse Rebecca).
He was predeceased by his mother, Maureen (Mudrak) Kirschbaum.
Visitation was held June 23 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral Mass was offered June 24 at St. Mary’s Church, Middletown.
Arrangements are under the direction of John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
