After battling cancer for three years, Arlene Wedeen Miller passed away comfortably at the age of 96 at home in Little Silver Oct. 5. 2023, surrounded by her three children.

Arlene was born to Dr. William and Mildred Wedeen in Perth Amboy in 1927.

Arlene married Seymour, the love of her life, in 1947. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with family and friends in June 2017. Seymour passed away suddenly in 2018.  

Arlene had tremendous energy and was very active until two months before her passing. She was cooking, baking, playing canasta and mahjong regularly as well as meeting family and friends for lunch and dinner.

Arlene loved her family more than anything.

She is survived by her three children, Peter (Bess) Miller, Nancy Rodman and Constance Miller; her six granddaughters, Sarah, Emily (Ben), Elizabeth, Stephanie, Isabel and Rebecca; and her younger sister Ruth (Hank) Plotkin and their three children, Jimmy (Bonnie) Plotkin, Ellen Mulholland and Debbie Michelle.

Arlene’s younger brother, Arthur Wedeen, passed away Oct. 23, 2023.

Arlene was laid to rest Oct. 8 at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin.
