ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS
The 3rd Annual Taste of Atlantic Highlands will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, with a rain date of Sunday, Sept. 20.
Tickets are $35 per person; children under 12 are free.
Attendees will be able to sample the offerings of the 40 participating restaurants and businesses while riding on a classic trolley through the borough. There will be food, cocktails, free giveaways, chances to win prizes and be
entered to win one of the grand prizes: a $200 Top Tomato Superstore gift card, a
$150 Top Tomato Superstore gift card
or a $100 Suzi’s Sweet Shoppe gift card.

HOLMDEL
The third annual Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. by the Vietnam Veterans of America New Jersey State Council will be held in the PNC Bank Arts Center parking lot at Exit 116 of the Garden State Parkway.
Admission is a $20 donation to register vehicle, $5 donation per spectator with children under the age of 12 free.
All registration fees go directly to support the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial and the Vietnam Era Museum & Educational Center.

MONMOUTH BEACH
The Art Society of Monmouth County will presents an art demonstration/lecture at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at the Monmouth Beach Cultural Center, 128 Ocean Ave.
The event is open to the public. New members are welcome to join.

RED BANK
The Red Bank Regional Buc Backer Foundation (RBRBBF) presents the fifth annual “Day at the Races” from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Monmouth Park, 175 Oceanport Ave. in Oceanport.
Whole families are invited for a day of horseracing, good friends and great food. The event takes place at the Monmouth Park Reserved Picnic Area.
Tickets are $50 per person; $25 for RBR faculty, staff and Hall of Famers; $10 for students, ages 13 to 18; and free for children 12 and under. The price of the ticket includes admission, racing program and pen, and a gourmet lunch. Light spirits and soft drinks are included.

The Friends of the Red Bank Public Library invites lovers of libraries, books and bargains to its annual used book sale, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the 84 W. Front St. library.
Those who want to get an early start at the sale may arrive at 9 a.m. and pay a $10 admission fee.
There will be a huge selection of current bestsellers, classics, fiction and nonfiction, DVDs, CDs and a separate room for the children’s book sale. A bag sale, during which patrons can fill a provided bag for $5, will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Sept.15.
The sale’s kickoff preview reception will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12. The event, which is free for members of Friends of Red Bank Public Library, is $25 and will include wine and appetizers, live music by local musician Al Wright, raffle items and, of course, first dibs at the book sale.
All proceeds will benefit the friends organization.

 SHREWSBURY
The monthly Jersey Shore PFLAG support meeting will be held 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8., at the Presbyterian Church House, 352 Sycamore Ave.
The meetings offer support, education and advocacy for parents, family and friends of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people.
Meetings are held on the second Monday of every month.
The organization also will hold its monthly transgender and transfamilies support meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, at the Presbyterian Church House. The meetings offer support, education and advocacy for parents, family and friends of transgender individuals and their families. Meetings are held on the third Monday of every month.
Although meetings are held in a church building, PFLAG is not affiliated with any religious organization.
