Elizabeth Anne Balaniz, Liz, to her many friends, 74, of Middletown, died on Friday, July 1 at her home. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, to the late William and Mary Christine Keogh. Elizabeth worked as a waitress at the Lobsterman in Leonardo and as a bartender for the Careless Navigator in Highlands. She was known by everyone that she knew for her quick wit and humor, her open door and warm kettle. She is and will always be missed, she was a shining star.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her son, James M. Holloway in 2000. Surviving are her husband, John F. Balaniz; a son, John P. (Jeannine) Holloway; a daughter, Jennifer (Bill Ulrich) Holloway Watts; eight grandchildren, Serenia (James Dunlea) Horgan-Dunlea, John Damian Holloway, Sarah (John) Barksdale, Meredyth Watts, Madison Holloway, Riley Holloway, Luke Holloway and William Holloway; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan Dunlea, Luke James Dunlea.
