Barbara A. Truair, 54, passed away suddenly Sept. 16, 2023. She was born Oct. 3, 1968, in Long Branch, a beloved daughter of the late Barbara and Robert W. Truair Sr. Barabara was a lifelong resident of Port Monmouth.

She spent the last 18 years being her parents’ devoted caretaker while working her full-time position at Home Depot.

She always looked forward to making fond memories with her two children on their annual camping trips throughout the summer, during which she enjoyed swimming, kayaking, spending time around the fire and listening to some of her favorite music, which mainly consisted of 80s hair bands, classic rock and country.

Her presence will be forever greatly missed whether it’s at a family BBQ, during a chatty conversation, at a silent night around the flame of the campfire, or after a long day’s work in the homey wind-down and loving comfort of her closest family.

She is survived by her daughter Cheyann and son, Lance Cpl. Robert J. Truair; her four sisters, Sharon (Ken) Herceg, Christy Truair, Jessica (Dave) Brandzel and Andrea (Neal) Polycandriotis; and her only brother, Robert (Gina) Truair Jr. She leaves behind a small army of nieces and nephews whom she played part-time (unpaid) taxi driver for: Hunter, Jamie, Nikko, Robert III, Scotty, Daniel, Josie, Gabby, Brianna and Nicholas.

Friends and relatives paid their respects Sept. 22 at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals, Belford.

A private cremation followed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 187, Memphis, TN 38101 or stjude.org or the Monmouth County SPCA at monmouthcountyspca.org.
