Barbara Bailey Russell, 76, passed away peacefully July 22, 2023, with her son JP by her side.
A lifelong resident of Rumson, Barbara was the daughter of William and Ruth Bailey. She was in the hospitality industry for over 50 years. From 1982 through 2016 Barbara was a co-owner of What’s Your Beef, a popular and successful restaurant in Rumson.
Barbara was known for her great sense of humor and quick wit. She was involved with the Rumson community, including participating in the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade. Barbara was also a proud member of the Beaver Bash Club. Barbara had a great love of animals (especially dogs), gardening and traveling the world.
Barbara was predeceased by her daughter Denise Russell. She is survived by her son John Philip (JP) Tucker, as well as cousins, nieces, nephews and her dog Gigi.
A Memorial Gathering with a service to honor Barbara was held Aug. 8 at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions to the Monmouth County SPCA in her memory.
