Barbara Margene Harrison, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, died at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank Feb. 13, 2025. Her caring husband of 57 years, Dave, was by her side. Born March 22, 1949, in Decatur, Indiana, Barb lived a life rich in love, laughter and unwavering devotion to her family and faith. She called Little Silver home for the last 42 years of her life.

Known as Barb – or Mar to her grandchildren – she possessed a rare ability to connect with others, leaving even brief acquaintances feeling like lifelong friends. She will be especially remembered for her gift of conversation and her genuine desire to connect with others.

A woman of deep spirituality and a lifelong learner, she was always eager to explore new books and ideas. Barb found joy in baking her famous sugar cookies for every holiday, cherishing time with her grandchildren, and creating a warm, inviting home. She took great pride in the hard work she and Dave poured into remodeling their house, making it a reflection of their love of Colonial Williamsburg.

A dedicated member of St. James Episcopal Church in Eatontown, her faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength and connection. For the past 15 years, Barb faced her battle with COPD with resilience.

She was a loving mother to Angie and Geoff Harrison and a proud grandmother to Mackenzie, Taylor and Morgan.

She is survived by her mother, Enid Roberts; her husband Dave; her children; her grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Niki Meredith Harrison; her sisters, Laura Moses Wadsworth and Jo Flohr; and her brother, Eric Roberts.

Barb’s legacy of love and the memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of her family.

A memorial service was held Feb. 15 at St. James Memorial Episcopal Church in Eatontown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barb’s memory to St. James Memorial Episcopal Church, The Arthritis Foundation or The Compass School.
