New Jersey Museum of Contemporary Art (NJMoCA) named Ellen Martin of Monmouth Beach as a founding trustee.
Martin was the first director of marketing and user conference director at Deltek Systems in Virginia. She is an instructor at the Visual Arts Center in Summit where she teaches a course in marketing for self-representing artists. She has also worked as an art consultant, an artists’ representative, and a judge for the Sixth Congressional District High School Arts Competition. She is a member of several arts organizations including the Monmouth County Arts Council and ArtsCap – the Arts Coalition of Asbury Park. She received a B.A. in art history from Brooklyn College.
NJMoCA, a new cultural organization, is the state’s only museum dedicated exclusively to international contemporary art, and one of only a few non-collecting institutions presenting temporary art exhibitions in the country. The Middletown Arts Center, 36 Church St., Middletown, will host a Winter Wedding Dance Showcase and Expo 6 – 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26. presented by the MAC’s Business Partner in the Arts Posies Flower Shop and the MAC’s ballroom dance instructors.
The Arts Center will be transformed into a magical, romantic venue as businesses and artisans share tips for wedding bliss and introduce brides and grooms to their services and products. There is no fee to attend. Refreshments will be served by Branches Catering and music will be presented by This is Entertainment and Bridal Music by Flora Duo.
At 8 p.m., the Middletown Arts Center’s ballroom dance instructors, Tanya Belikov and Richard Givney will present “I Do For You”, a beautiful performance of “First Dances” for newlyweds, their parents and the bridal party. The instructors will be available to speak with guests about their dance lessons for brides, grooms and wedding parties.
