Diane Turton, Realtors Launches Turton Toy Drive for Sandy Survivors
This holiday season, Diane Turton, Realtors has joined forces with the Monmouth County Long Term Recovery Group (MCLTRG) and the Ocean County Long Term Recovery Group (OCLTRG) to launch Turton Toy Drive for Sandy Survivors, a toy and game drive benefiting the children impacted by Super Storm Sandy.
Now through Wednesday, Dec. 11, each one of the 16 Diane Turton, Realtors offices and corporate headquarters will be collecting unwrapped toys and games for children of all ages. The public is encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys and/or games to any Diane Turton, Realtors office, where agents will be collecting the toys and games to distribute to children impacted by Sandy in both counties.
People or businesses who wish to donate toys and/or games can stop by any of the following Diane Turton, Realtors locations and drop off new, unwrapped toys and/or games:

Brookdale Professor Named Top Professor in New Jersey
LINCROFT – The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education have named Linda Wang, professor of mathematics at Brookdale County College, the 2013 New Jersey Professor of the Year. Wang was selected from more than 350 top professors in the United States. She was honored at an awards luncheon held Nov. 14 in Washington, D.C.
Wang has a bachelor’s in mathematics and a master’s in statistics from the University of California at Berkeley. She has been a full-time member of the Brookdale faculty since 1992 and joined the college as an adjunct instructor in 1990. Wang has taught basic math, elementary algebra, precalculus, business calculus, and statistics at the college.
Previously, she taught high school math at the Ranney School in Tinton Falls. Prior to becoming a teacher, she was a programmer for the United State Government Department of Agriculture in California. A resident of Marlboro, she was former principal of the Jersey Shore Chinese School in Holmdel, where she also taught Chinese dance. Wang has two children, Jade and Raemin.
“I feel very honored to receive this award because I love teaching,” Wang said. “I love to be with the students and see how they grow, become successful and move on. They give me energy.”
The U.S. Professors of the Year program honors the most outstanding undergraduate instructors in the country. It is the only national program to recognize excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring. Awards are based upon outstanding dedication to undergraduate teaching, as evidenced by impact on students, scholarly approach to teaching and learning, contributions to undergraduate education in the institution, community and profession, and support from colleagues and former students.
EMACC 2014 Spinnaker Award Winners Announced
The Eastern Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce (EMACC) has announced the honorees for the Annual Spinnaker Awards.
Now in its 22nd year, the Spinnaker Awards honors those businesses and individuals who give of themselves to make life better for everyone in eastern Monmouth County.
Those to be honored are:
Volunteers of the Year: Chris Wood, Ilene Winters and Peter Forlenza of Sea Bright Rising for above and beyond service and dedication by an individual who provides exemplary service to the community.
Arts & Culture Award: The Atlantic Highlands Arts Council in recognition of those individuals and organizations who support and cultivate an appreciation of arts in the community.
Public Service Award: Congressman Frank J. Pallone to honor an individual who is a source of pride to the citizens he/she serves and is consistent with the high principles of the chamber for all who hold a public charge.
Community Service Award: TJ Brustowicz, Shore Flicks, for a business with less than 50 employees which has shown a dedication to the good of the eastern Monmouth community by leadership and spirit in support of our quality of life.
Corporate Good Neighbor: Investors Bank for a business with 50 or more employees. Beginning with the CEO, a business whose culture motivates employees to be personally involved as good Samaritans to people in need making eastern Monmouth a better place to live.
Non-Profit Organization of the Year: OceanFirst Foundation to honor an organization that provides quality and consistent programs and services to the community.
“Spinnaker has become the premier business-to-business signature event in our region and attracts hundreds of people who attend to congratulate the honorees and to network with Monmouth County’s foremost business and community leaders,” said Ray Eckhoff, EMACC chairman and cochair of the Spinnaker Awards.

The Spinnaker Awards will be bestowed Jan. 16 and will be held along with the annual election and installation of EMACC officers and directors at Branches in West Long Branch. The event will feature film clips and an art exhibit courtesy of The Atlantic Highlands Arts Council and the Film One Festival, live entertainment, a full open bar, a plated sit-down dinner and retrospective video featuring current and former Spinnaker winners.

Monmouth Medical Center Adds Ob/Gyn Specialist to Staff
LONG BRANCH – Monmouth Medical Center, a Barnabas Health facility, recently announced the addition of Jessica Fischetti-Galvin, D.O., an obstetrics and gynecology specialist, to the hospital’s medical and dental staff.
Fischetti-Galvin earned her medical degree from Nova-Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune where she served as chief resident and as a resident representative of the Graduate Medical Education Committee. Fischetti-Galvin is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association and the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology.
After growing up in Monmouth County, Fischetti-Galvin always wanted to practice in the area. A native of Aberdeen who attended Matawan Regional High School, she now resides in Tinton Falls to care for patients in Monmouth and Ocean counties.
