Carol Cook Martin passed away Nov. 23, 2024. Born Ruth Carol Cook in 1942, she grew up and raised her family in Fair Haven, a town for which she had a deep affection. She lived in Shadow Lake Village for over 20 years.

Carol made a loving home for her three children, Scott, Wendy and Bonnie and her former husband, Tom. For over 30 years, she was a secretary for the late Brooks von Arx’s legal practice in Fair Haven, a job she loved because of her boss’ kindness and her ability to interact with and help so many members of the community.

Carol was very close to her brother Robert, who lived in their family home in Fair Haven, and she cherished her many wonderful friends.

Carol’s greatest role was as grandmother to her seven grandchildren, Baxter, Hayden, Avery, Aran, Vivienne, Linh and Annie. Always patient and helpful and always bringing gifts and hugs, Carol loved spending weekends, vacations and holidays with her family.

Carol suffered from Alzheimer’s disease for the last four years of her life. She will be deeply missed by her children and their spouses, Carol, Jerry and Tuan, her grandchildren, her brother and his spouse Jake.
